Health and wellbeing
Understanding of the importance of individual wellbeing inside and outside the workplace is increasing. We are committed to the wellbeing of our staff and have a number of initiatives in place to raise awareness, signpost or provide practical tools so individuals can manage their own wellbeing and recognise signs that others may need help.
On this page you will find information regarding the support and initiatives we offer staff.
Wellbeing events
We support a number of initiative days and run events/raising awareness sessions throughout the year.
Occupational health
Our occupational health (OH) service is provided by Gipping OH. There are clinics every other Thursday morning with an OH Advisor at West Suffolk House. We offer a wide range of support to staff through this service, including phased returns to work, stress management, counselling, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and other talking therapies.
Wellbeing champions
Wellbeing champions are employees who have volunteered to promote and support wellbeing initiatives by signposting colleagues to events/support available and encouraging healthy lifestyles and positive mental health.
Mental health first aiders (MHFAs)
A number of staff are trained as MHFAs who act as a point of contact for employees experiencing a mental health issue or emotional distress. They are not therapists or psychiatrists, but they can give initial support and signpost individuals to appropriate help if required.
Learning and development
We run a number of sessions focused around health and wellbeing as part of our corporate training programme.
