What role are you currently in, and what apprenticeship are you studying?

Apprentice - Housing. I am currently an apprentice in Business Support in the Housing Solutions Strategy team at West Suffolk Council. I am studying Level 3 Business Administration course.

Why did you choose to do an apprenticeship?

I chose to do an apprenticeship to earn and learn. I also wanted to develop my business studies qualification and thought the best way to do this was through an apprenticeship.

Do you have an idea of what you would like to do after your apprenticeship?

No, not really.

Did you know about the council before starting your apprenticeship, if so, what?

No, I did not know much about the council before I started my apprenticeship.

What advice would you give to future applicants?

Take your time with learning new systems and always ask if you have a question. Everyone is so lovely and will be willing to help.

Name three things have you learnt whilst working at the council

• I have gained better communication skills which with this, has developed my confidence better.
• I have learnt that everyone is happy to help and there is no such thing as a silly question.
• Also, every day is a learning day to improve your skills.
